London, UK – 1 March 2003 – Venus Internet Ltd, the privately owned web technology and engineering agency, has acquired the web development business of its close partner agency codix.net ltd. The codix.net development business will significantly enhance the service offering of Venus Internet. Founded in 2000, codix.net (http://codix.net) has built a reputation for high-quality technology solutions and excellent customer service, and has developed a substantial client base including Transport for London, Science Photo Library, Specsavers, and the BBC. codix.net staff will continue to provide the same high-quality service to existing clients of codix.net as part of Venus Internet, and codix.net clients will enjoy the benefits of Venus Internet’s secure, climate-controlled hosting facility, high-speed Internet connection, dedicated systems administration staff and in-house design capability. Venus Internet has been trading successfully in a highly competitive and volatile industry for over eight years, and continues to provide complex web sites and Internet solutions to a variety of business including Cisco Systems, the Wellcome Trust, Laing Homes, and ABN-AMRO among others. The current client roster, as well as further information about the company, can be found at http://www.venus.co.uk. Recently Venus Internet has focussed on the development of a set of re-usable technical solutions that can be repackaged and resold at a low development cost. These tools now form part of an intellectual property “toolbox” which includes a content management system, a publishing engine, a web-based conference management and organisational tool, and a website filtering technology to render graphical websites accessible to visually impaired users. Current major development work focuses on the provision of a network management tool for the investment banking and global custodian sectors. |
